Woodland Wellbeing
Mindfulness in nature 'forest bathing' session for wellness
Service Description
This is a nature based session using mindfulness and grounding wellbeing techniques 'within' and in relation with the natural environment. It would include breath work, nature connection exercises, and movement practices to resource and support self within a woodland setting. Every session is drawn from what is most relevant or useful to you. This should enable you to develop some new tools and techniques to develop a deeper understanding on how to resource yourself through life challenges. "Forest bathing' (Shinrin you) techniques began in Japan in the 1980s. A process of being with and observing nature whilst using breathing techniques towards reducing stress and promoting wellbeing. There is plenty of scientific evidence to support this practice enabling physiological benefits to our whole being including information of the chemicals trees omit and microbes within the earth having direct benefits on our health. Health benefits can include reducing blood pressure, improving autonomic immune functions and reducing depression. For most people 'just being' in a woodland setting or sitting with trees offers them a sense of calm meditative reflection. NB If something traumatic has happened to you within a nature setting you may not feel comfortable and may benefit from some trauma therapy to work with these triggers before 'forest bathing' could be a comfortable fit for you. Feel free to ask me about this if you would like help with sign posting. All sessions are run inline with current COVID guidelines and will be discussed when you book your session. Warm wishes Hazel
